Clearly drawing on Art Informel, Aschenbrenner presents the works he created in early summer 2020
to the public for the first time. Amorphous forms with no apparent “up” or “down” float in space. Graphically outlined and non-figurative, they nevertheless suggest recognisable shapes. Associations with nature or animal forms emerge in the viewer’s eyes; veils of colour complete an overall image that remains elusive. Aschenbrenner paints freely, improvising and giving form to his inner world as he moves from
automatism to painting with his eyes closed.
